The defending champion Barbados Tridents of the Caribbean Premier League (CPL) 2019 will take on ST. Lucia Zouks on Thursday. This is the 5th game of this year’s edition and will be played on 20th August at the Brian Lara Cricket Stadium, Trinidad.
The Tridents clearly emerge as a strong unit on paper, however, after the close competition in their opening match in this edition, they cannot take anything away. His spin bowling unit is notable, with the likes of Rashid Khan, Ashley Nurse, Hayden Walsh Jr., and Mitchell Santner.
Trident had Rashid and Sentner picks in the first encounter as they both made a cameo with the bat and took two wickets in all-round performance, while captain Jason Holder hit his 38 runs. The Tridents ended victorious in their opening fixture against St Kitts, however, there are some issues they want to address.
St. Lucia Zouks, on the other hand, will be expected to face their players in today’s match after losing to the Jamaican Tallawahs, who beat them by 5 wickets and chase the target with 7 balls remaining. The margin of loss has badly dipped the net run rate (NRR) of the 5th-based Zox.
The absence of some star players is hurting them. However, in the presence of Mohammad Nabi, Najibullah Zadran, Rahkem Cornwall, Andre Fletcher, and Darren Sammy, he has enough power in his favor to turn things around.
